About this tool
The Numbers API database: trivia (why 42 matters), math (1729 = the Hardy–Ramanujan taxi-cab number), day-of-year facts and year events. Comes back verbatim from the source with a 'found in database' flag so an agent never confuses a real fact with filler.
Frequently asked questions
How does the date format work?
Encode the date as month × 100 + day: July 20 → 720. The fact returned is what history attaches to July 20.
What if my number isn't in the database?
The API returns a related filler fact and the response flags found: false — so callers can tell a genuine database fact from generated filler.
