Earthquakes (Live)
Recent earthquakes from USGS: filter by region (city or coordinates + radius), minimum magnitude and look-back window. Returns count, the largest event and a magnitude/place/depth table with links — live geophysical data agents cannot fabricate.
Worked examples
California, M3+, 48h
GET /api/v1/live/earthquakes?city=Los%20Angeles&minMagnitude=3&days=2&radiusKm=500
Result: No earthquakes ≥ M3 near Los Angeles, United States in the last 2 day(s)
Worldwide M6+
GET /api/v1/live/earthquakes?minMagnitude=6&days=7
Result: 9 quake(s) ≥ M6 near worldwide in 7d — largest M7.7 (12 km WSW of Pitaloza Arriba, Panama)

About this tool
USGS earthquake catalog queries with region, magnitude and time filters — count, strongest event, depth and UTC times, each row linked to the official USGS page. The live feed changes minute by minute, which is exactly why agents should query it rather than answer from training data.
Frequently asked questions
Which magnitudes exist in the feed?
USGS assigns whatever magnitude scale the contributing network used (ml, mb, mww…); the number is comparable enough for triage. Global completeness starts around M4.5, regional lists go lower.
How fresh are results?
The USGS feed updates continuously; this tool caches responses for 10 minutes and supports look-back windows of 1–30 days.
