ECB reference rates update around 16:00 CET on working days; the API serves the latest published fix, cached here for 30 minutes. These are reference rates, not tradable spreads.
Which currencies are supported?
The ECB basket: USD, EUR, JPY, GBP, CHF, AUD, CAD, CNY, INR, BRL, MXN, ZAR, and ~20 more. Exotic and crypto pairs are out of scope.
